Space Elevator, NASA Project That Will Archieve Highest Building In The Universe

Space Elevator or the Indonesian Space Elevator is an elevator that is designed to send material from the earth’s surface into space involves traveling through a structure and not by using a rocket.

The concept often refers to a structure that reaches geostationary orbit about 35,786 km from the Earth’s surface.

Space elevator concept originated from the idea of a Russian scientist Konstantin Tsiolkovsky, who in 1985 proposed a compression structure or so-called Tower of Tsiolkovsky.

Elevator space also sometimes called a space bridge, steps into space, orbit towers, or orbital elevators.

However, current technology has not been able to create a strong structure, but also light for the space elevator. This is due to construction if the total mass using conventional materials are too large.

The concept of the latest plan of making the space elevator is the use of carbon nanotube-based materials. It is known that the strength of the carbon nano-tube material in microscopic scale is very strong when compared with other materials that already exist so it can theoretically be used to manufacture the space elevator.

Not yet known when this project will be done, so far the project is still a space elevator concept.
